FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a gang sheet?

The words "gang sheet" refers to the grouping of several images on to one sheet for printing. A printed gang sheet is a large piece of film with multiple images arranged and printed at the same time. Our gang sheets are 22" wide and the length is determined by the number of images on the sheet. Gang sheets are provided back to the customer as a roll for the customer to cut apart and use.

What types of prints can be printed?

We can print any image sent to us, however, a low quality, low resolution image may not print in a quality that meets your expectations. For best results your image needs to have a resolution of 300 DPI (Dots Per Inch) AT PRINT SIZE. Note: Most internet and social media images are less than print quality.

Are there any design restrictions for DTF transfers?

There are very few restrictions on what kind of designs we can print. Images with heavy gradients or super tiny detail may not yield favorable results. For the the best quality prints your images need to be at least 300dpi.

Is there anything you can't/won't print?

WE DO NOT PRINT COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL. If you add a copyrighted image to your gang sheet using our tool it will be removed before printing. If you have a copyrighted image in a gang sheet and you upload it will be cut from the sheet before being shipped. Any copyrighted material that is removed will not be refunded. If you have a question about a particular image you can ask by emailing orders@lighthousegraphics.com.

Just because you purchase a file of a copyrighted image from Etsy does not mean you have the right to print it. The Etsy seller may claim to own that particular image, but they do not own the copyright and therefore can't grant one. Examples include but are not limited to The Grinch, (this copyright belongs to Dr Suess Enterprises LP) Mickey Mouse themed prints (the use of anything resembling Mickey is copyright owned by Disney).

Can DTF Transfers Be Reused?

DTF Transfers are a onetime use. Once the image is applied to your canvas it will pull away from the film completely and be permanently adhered to your canvas. If you have multiple canvases, you will need a transfer for each one.

What can DTF transfers be pressed on?

DTF transfers can be pressed on a variety of fabric items, including T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, hats, tote bags, and more. They adhere well to cotton, polyester, and blends of these materials, making them suitable for a wide range of applications.

Can you press a DTF transfer with an iron?

While it is technically possible to press a DTF transfer with an iron, it is not the recommended method for achieving high-quality and long-lasting results. While it may look fine after initial ironing, the transfer does not receive even pressure for the duration of the pressing time and can peel and crack after washing.  Heat presses are designed to provide even and consistent heat and pressure. This is essential for a successful transfer. Our transfers are not guaranteed with the use of an iron or other sub-par application methods.

What kind of press do I need?

Any kind of heat press with the ability to reach the temperature and pressure outlined on our instructions page will work.

How do I know if my DTF transfers are still usable?

Check for any signs of adhesive degradation, warping, discoloration, or loss of vibrancy. Perform a small test application before using stored transfers for larger projects.

What is the turn around time for my order?

At this time our turn around is 1-3 business days from receipt of payment and acceptable artwork.
